Jacob Kaplan lives an ordinary life in Uruguay. Like many of his other Jewish friends, Jacob fled Europe for South America after World War II. But now, turning 76, he’s become rather grumpy and fed up with his community and his family’s lack of interest in its own heritage.
Becoming convinced that his German neighbor is a runaway Nazi, he secretly takes on the role of a spy – only he is no match for the forces of age. This heartwarming comedy tells the truth of life that transcends time and ideology.
Uruguay’s entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Academy Award.
