From Mushon Salmona, director of Vasermil, comes the story of Raid, a young Bedouin from a desert village, recently discharged from the army.Despite all his problems, he tries to fulfill his dream of taking over the family’s herd of sheep.

While minding the herd, he meets Nofar, the Jewish girlfriend of his cousin, Sleiman, a petty thief ostracized by their family. When Sleiman’s chaotic life endangers Raid’s dream and Nofar’s father discovers their relationship, the three embark on what is intended to be Sleiman’s last big job, but nothing turns out as planned.

Mushon Salmona was born in Beer-Sheba, Israel in 1970. He moved to London in 1994 and holds a B.A. in Communication and an M.A. in Cultural and Critical Studies from University College, London. His short film Father’s Day exhibited in the Manchester Kino Short film festival. He worked in television as a researcher, location director and developer and was involved on such documentary projects as The 50 Years War (BBC) and Warrior: from Civilian to Soldier (PBS and Discovery).

During that time he produced and directed the short documentary Beer Sheba Concrete about youth in his hometown. After returning to Israel, Mushon Salmona directed his first feature film, Vasermil. The film won the Golden Gate award at the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Wolgin award, Grand Jury prize at the Jerusalem International Film Festival.
