Israel, 1999, 35mm, 95 minutes
As the Oslo Agreement is signed in Washington, DC, the Nahal Settlement - the Israeli Army's communal living experiment - lies scattered amidst the terrain on Mount Hazon in the lower Galilee. Through a series of cat and mouse games, Noam Wax, the charismatic leader of the group, gathers six former members of the settlement back to the mountain. His purpose is to complete a documentary film about the settlement that will help him overcome the trauma and scars left over from those days. This psychologically gripping feature from renowned Israeli director Aner Preminger (Blind Man's Bluff), is the story of one man's trial to exorcise the demons of his past. Welcoming Remarks Special Guest Co-sponsored by the Embassy of Israel In cooperation with Israel Bonds, New Leadership Division
