Ushering, manning box office/will call, taking tickets, distributing & counting ballots/surveys, etc

 

Setting up and assisting at special program receptions before/after film

 

Setting up and assisting at Opening, Closing, and Funders' night parties

 

Transporting festival guests, coordinating guest tours/trips, assembling and delivering hospitality bags, managing VIP Room, assisting at guest party

 

Stuffing press kits, distributing festival posters and brochures, mailing highlight kits, etc.

 

Updating Festival web site (No programming knowledge necessary)

•    Register (sign up for shifts)

Submit your completed Volunteer Registration form online or by fax at 202.518.9420 by November 17 . For questions, e-mail [email protected] .

 

Volunteers receive the following ticket benefits:   

          

1 shift 1 comp ticket
2 shifts   2 comp tickets
3-4 shifts 2 comp tickets + Weekday FestPass (free entrance to weekday films, if seats available at showtime)
5+ shifts 2 comp tickets + Full FestPass   (free entrance to all films, if seats available at showtime)

        

NOTE: Excludes Opening and Closing Night films

Please keep shift change requests to a minimum by not signing up until you are sure you can work the shift. Theater Ops volunteers SHOULD NOT sign up to volunteer during films they wish to see.

 

 

 

•    RSVP for your FREE tickets

E-mail your comp ticket/pass request to [email protected] by November 29 . Include name, number and type of tickets/pass (see above), titles and dates of films (1st & 2nd choice). 10 comp tickets available per screening; first-come, first-served. Any requests after November 29 will not be honored.

If you are entitled to a Weekday or Full FestPass, your request should include the titles and dates of your 2 comp tickets as well as a request for the appropriate FestPass

Confirmed comp tickets/passes will be available for pick-up at the Will Call table at the designated theater one hour prior to the film screening. You must pick up your tickets 10 minutes before showtime or they will be released for sale.

 

 

•    Show up & report to Volunteer Check-In

Volunteer Check-In will be located in the lobby of the theater venue. Volunteer Check-in at the DJCC will be located in the VIP Room on the 2nd floor adjacent to the 16th Street Lobby
