THEATER LOCATIONS AND TRANSPORTATION

Aaron and Cecile Goldman Theater

Washington District of Columbia Jewish Community Center

1529 16th Street NW, Washington, DC

(Corner of 16th and Q Streets NW)

Metro: Red line to Dupont Circle. Exit north to Q Street

The free shuttle between the Dupont Circle Metro and the Washington DCJCC will have extended hours during the week of the Festival! Look for the white Washington DCJCC van at the northwest corner of 20th and Q Streets. The shuttle runs approximately every 15 minutes.

Washington DCJCC Shuttle Schedule for December 2 – 12, 2004

Monday 5:30 pm – 11:30 pm, 11:00 am to 3:30 pm for daytime screenings

Tuesday thru Thursday 5:30 pm - 11:30 pm, noon to 3:30pm for daytime screenings

Friday 11:00 am – 3:30 pm

Saturday 5:15 pm – 12:15 am

Sunday 11:30 am -10:45 pm

 

Metrobus : The S series (S1, S2, S3, S4, S5) runs north and south along 16th Street. Bus #G2 originates in Georgetown and travels across P Street (1 block south of Q Street).

Walking : The Washington DCJCC is an easy, well-lit stroll from the Dupont Metro: exit onto Q Street and turn right (East) when you get off the escalator. Cross Connecticut Avenue, and walk 5 blocks until you see the building.

Parking: If you are planning to drive, remember to leave plenty of time for parking.

Paid Parking:

150 new parking spaces available at Colonial Public Parking Garage

1616 P St (btwn 16th and 17th streets) $5 per car, only $4 when you have your ticket vouchered at the Washington DCJCC's Front Desk

 

Colonial Parking lot hours :

Monday through Saturday   6:00pm-10:30pm

Sunday       10:00am-10:30pm

 

Washington DCJCC Parking Lot : Entrance is on Q Street behind the Washington DCJCC. The lot has a limited number of spaces. Fees are $2 for 1 hour, $3 for 2 hours and a maximum of $5 per evening. Seniors may park for half-price. These fees reflect ½ off of standard rates with Washington DCJCC validation. Be sure to ask the parking attendant for a ticket to be validated at the Washington DCJCC's front desk

Washington DCJCC lot hours:

Weekdays : Monday through Thursday: 6:00 am – 11:00 pm. Friday: 6:00 am - 5:30pm

Weekends : Saturday evening, Sunday day and evening

Street Parking : Restrictions on zoned parking end at 6:30 pm on weekdays. No restrictions on weekend parking.

The Goethe-Institut Washington

814 Seventh Street NW (7 th and “I” Streets NW)

Metro: Red, Yellow or Green Lines to Gallery Place-Chinatown. Exit at 7 th and H Streets and walk North 1 block.

Metrobus: The 70, X2 , P6 provide transportation to 7th Street and “I” Street.

Public Parking: Surrounding streets have metered parking until 6:30.  There are commercial garages within a few blocks walk.

The Avalon Theatre

5612 Connecticut Avenue, N.W., between McKinley and Northampton Streets, just over a quarter mile south of Chevy Chase Circle.

 

Metro/Metrobus: Red Line to Friendship Heights metro station. Transfer to the E2, E3, E4, or E6 bus, which will drop you a half-block from the Theatre at the corner of McKinley and Connecticut Avenue.

Metrobus: L1, L2, and L4 provide transportation from points South on Connecticut Avenue to the Avalon.

Public Parking: Surrounding streets have unrestricted parking in the evening.

 

AFI Silver Theatre

8633 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD 20910.

Metro: Red Line to Silver Spring metro station. Exit onto Colesville Road and walk North 2 blocks.

Metrobus: The Silver Spring station is served by Metrobus routes 70, 71, J5, F4, F6, JH1, J2, J3, J4, Q2, S2, S4, Y8, Z5.

Public Parking: Surrounding streets and public garages have unrestricted parking in the evening and on weekends. Commercial parking is available behind the Lee Building at the corner of Colesville Road and Georgia Ave or at the Gateway Plaza after 6:00 pm.

 

The National Gallery of Art – East Building Auditorium

4th Street and Constitution Avenue NW. The entrance is located on 4 th Street.

Metro: Judiciary Square on the Red Line and Archives on the Yellow/Green Lines.

Metrobus: The 32, 34, 36, P1, P2 and P3 provide transportation to 4th Street.

Public Parking: Surrounding streets have unrestricted parking on weekends and there are commercial garages within a few blocks walk. Parking areas, ramps, and elevators provide access for visitors with disabilities.

The Embassy of France

4101 Reservoir Road NW, Washington, D.C. 20007. Enter through the doors up the driveway on the right.

Metro: There is no metro station near the Embassy, but Metrobuses D3 and D6 leave regularly from Dupont Circle, which is on the Red Line.

Metrobus: The D3 and D6 provide transportation to Reservoir Road.

Parking: Garage parking available at the Embassy. Stairs only. Visitors with disabilities should be dropped off outside the Maison Francaise doors.
