| Despite
the French Vichy Government’s collaboration with the Nazis, more than
two-thirds of French Jews were able to survive the Holocaust, due in large
part to the active resistance of ordinary French citizens. One of these
untold stories is centered in the rural town of Chabannes from 1939 to
1943, where 400 children were sheltered, nurtured and educated in a
converted chateau. This extraordinary award winning documentary focuses on
the Jews and non-Jews, who risked their lives for these children.
Co-director Lisa Gossels’ father is one of these children.
